About the project
For the new Henning Bock website we developed a pure and simple visual language and an easy-to-update XHTML/CSS frontend. The reduced design allows you to concentrate on the actual purpose of a photographer's portfolio: Watching and enjoying photos without thinking about the usage of the website, without being distracted by surrounding elements.

In addtion to just viewing the photos, you should be able to actually work with the online portfolio. For this reason, we implemented a deep link for each single photograph that can be easily bookmarked or forwarded. Thumbnails of photos you have already seen are marked through a lower opacity. Of course, all photos can be downloaded to your computer, opened in new browser tabs or windows or for example dragged to an e-mail (these things might sound obvious, but have a look at most photographer websites).

We also created an overview page showing all current photos at a glance – helping returning visitors to quickly find the shot they are looking for. If you would like to see how the photos work in a dark environment, you can switch the background color to black at any time (your setting will be stored in a cookie). Last but not least, there's a new e-mail newsletter and RSS feed to stay up to date with the latest work of Henning Bock.
